What do USA sports fans think about soccer?

In the rest of the world we call it football. It’s the most popular sport in the planet (my personal favorite is basket, but football/soccer is the most popular). What about the US, what do sport fans in the USA think about it? Do they find it interesting, boring, competitive, strange, spectacular… etc., ?

I’m a big sports fan, yet, soccer is one of those games i don’t care for as I find it quite boring, though i think it’s a great starter game for little kids, teaches them to be, a team player, what it means or feels like to win or loose, rules & guidelines, purpose of the game. Lacrosse or baseball are more fun sports to watch than Soccer.

Im a huge football fan and lived in America for a few years where i missed my fave sport alot, I doubt Americans will ever accept "soccer" as a major sport over there, most have only heard of brand Beckham and the huge circus fanfare that follows him and his bint everywhere!!!

I think most Americans find it boring, since it lasts for 90 minutes and the scores are very low. They don’t see the intricacies involved with strategy. Americans "in the know" however, think it’s great. Personally, I think it’s one of the most fun sports to play, even though it may not be the mosty exciting to watch on TV.

Sports fans in america don’t talk about soccer We just finished the
World serious Its the heat of Football Season With championships the colleges next month And basketball season just started
So car racing is up and ready to go. We don’t have the time for some guys running around in shorts playing kick the ball. But don’t hurt the person Man soccer its not even a sport its a recess game
I know its the most popular sport in the world However The US
does not live in the rest of the world We are the united states

Most of us think it’s terribly boring, so we don’t care about it one way or the other.

I am American and think futbol is the greatest sport in the universe. I disagree with ignorant people who would even say those other sports are world sports (NFL, NBA, MLB) national sports do not equal world championships and the US is part of this big round and rotating ball called earth! if you want a good nap try sitting thru nine freaking innings of aimless ball throwing and chewing of tobacco or I guess sun flower seeds now. Then try sitting and watching guys run and grab each other with helmets and maxi pads all over their uniforms to play something that’s suppose to be called football! Basketball is decent but the palyers cry everytime they get touched. NHL is the closest sport to a actual world championship in north america since it involves another country, Canada. So you see americans with culture and world understanding love the beautiful game and our less refined inbred citizens do not.
